Game Boy's 14th Birthday

Game Boy turned 14 last week. Because we were so close to the opening of The Odd Couple, we had to wait until this week to celebrate with Most Happy Girl's parents. However, based on viewing The Odd Couple, Game Boy chose BLT sandwiches for dinner. They were very good. At least he didn't want them on pumpernickle (though I make the sandwich for the show on dark rye -- but don't tell anyone). This was the only picture the kids would let me take of them.

But here are some of the mountains as you see them from my parents' front door. I love this view.

Here's how the set looks for The Odd Couple

Here are a couple of pictures from the set of The Odd Couple. I'm in charge of all the props and food (there's a lot of food in this show).

Here's the couch (where the Pigeon Sisters do a lot of sitting)

I can't resist a man in a mustard-colored hoodie

Alright, I must admit that I really can resist a man in a mustard-yellow hoodie, just not this man. I mean, seriously, who could?

When Mr. Perfect and I picked out our hoodies the other day, I of course went straight for the dark green. He was very drawn to the mustard-yellow one. I have to admit that mustard yellow doesn't even make the top 200 in my favorite colors list, but on this man, I'm willing to revise the list.

Random candle burnings

Mr. Perfect and I love using candles.

I couldn't resist taking pictures of this one, the way it was melting was so interesting and intricate.

Even though you can't really tell in the pictures, it was a very dark purple.

As you can probably guess, this one is now a puddle on the dish and will be replaced very soon by a new one (I'm thinking either white or pink).

If the new one is just as cool, you might see more candle pictures soon. Hmmm...I love the light from a candle.

More random home improvements

Okay, so the kitchen is now almost half done as far as painting and lighting goes. We painted most of the ceiling and the window wall this weekend and installed the new lights. We love the new lights! We bought matching lights for over the sink and the table. The one over the table is a bigger version of the one over the sink (I just don't have a picture of it yet). They were a bit of a pain to put up, but Mr. Perfect was more than brilliant at getting it to work. He had to cut up some sheetrock to shove between the box and the new light brace to get it to work, but he was more than up for the challenge. What a man I have!

Mr. Perfect contemplating the light over the sink (but you can see a lot of the window wall behind him, plus the hole where the ceiling fan over the table used to be)

All lit up!

Also, we found that the seal between the bathtub and the shower doors was leaking, so we pulled them off, cleaned up the tub (it was a little disgusting), and put up a new rod and shower curtain. It makes the bathroom feel bigger, but Mr. Perfect says it will take him a while to not be claustrophobic with how the shower curtain tends to cling.

Happy Happy New Year!

We had Game Boy, Beatles Lover, and many of their friends over for New Year's Eve. We borrowed the projector from Mr. Perfect's office and set up Beatles Rock Band in the garage. It's really a nice thing to be the fun house. Mr. Perfect and I watched The Moon Is Blue downstairs while the kids rocked the night away. I think everyone was finally in bed around 3:00 a.m.

Happy New Year all!
