Sharing the love...and other things

So, my last post talked about how much I hate being sick. Well, even more than me being sick, I hate it when someone I love is sick. Mr. Perfect now has bronchitis. The poor thing. I've discovered that men are much bigger whimps when it comes to being sick than women are. However, Mr. Perfect does have some very strange (and sometimes scary) reactions to medications. The cough medicine the doctor prescribed him contains codine, and one dose was enough for us to go out and buy some regular over-the-counter cold medicine to replace it. He is starting to feel better, and the cough isn't nearly as painful to listen to as it was just a few days ago.

On a happier note, we auditioned for Taylorsville Arts Council's production of The King and I. I will be a nameless, inconspicuous wife, and Mr. Perfect will have a speaking part of some kind, we just don't know which one, yet. They also asked me if I'd be willing to be the music director. At least this one will pay. Not much, but still...

Days of whine and roses

Have I ever mentioned before how much I hate being sick? Well, I really, really, really, REALLY hate it. I probably wouldn't hate it quite so much if a normal cold didn't find a way to settle in my lungs and turn into pneumonia or bronchitis.

Yes, it's that wonderful time of year again, when a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of love, and Most Happy Girl's lungs turn into congested, hacking sacks that make breathing a chore, talking a challenge (to not start coughing), and singing nearly impossible (to not start coughing). Not to mention that if it goes deep enough to become pneumonia, I sound like I've been gargling shards of broken glass. At least this year (so far) it's only in the bronchitis phase. And we caught it soon enough it shouldn't make it's way into pneumonia. So, I happily take my little z-pak pills and send grateful thoughts to heaven for not being stuck in the house another day where lying down is a challenge to breathe and there's nothing to do all day but watch day-time television (something I refuse to do) and eat (which isn't appealing when you're sick).

Here are some pictures from the production of The Odd Couple that Mr. Perfect and I did last month. Great times, great times!
