Mr. Perfect's new website

So, Mr. Perfect's boss hired me to redesign the company website. I must admit, I found it a little intimidating in the beginning. And even though it's up and running, there are still things I wish I could (and know I should be able to) do better. At least I'll get to keep working on it and making it better.

The company is MJ Structural Engineers. They are a small but very experienced structural engineering firm in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm hoping that by blogging about it, they will move up in the Google search engine world. We can always hope. Anyhoo, here's the link to their site: MJ Structural Engineers.

Let me know what you think.

Random rainbows at Young Women's Camp

I spent last week at Young Women's Camp with many of the girls and their leaders from the stake. Preparing for camp really stressed me out. As I mentioned before, I've never been in the YW organization before this calling. When I was in high school, I never went to rough-out camp (tents and digging your own latrine stuff) because of other things.

Once we were there, it was wonderful. The girls had a blast. We even went to Crystal Hot Springs for a few hours one of the days. It was in place of the 3- to 5- mile hikes. I actually enjoy hiking, but the girls seemed to prefer sitting in the water, playing around. Who knew?

The last night, the stake president, one of his counselors, and the stake patriarch came for dinner and a Q&A session. It started raining during dinner, and we saw this amazing double rainbow while the men where answering a lot of questions. The bottom bow was full, and the top one was about a half.

Next year, it will just be the girls from our ward at camp. That will be a lot more stressful, but at least I have this year's camp under my belt to use as a reference. Though we probably won't have access to hot showers and a full kitchen. I guess you can't have everything.

I also missed Mr. Perfect while I was gone. Maybe next year, he can come and be one of the required priesthood holders present at camp. That would more than make up for no hot showers...but maybe not the lack of a full kitchen.

Visit from dear friends who live too far away

One of my best friends lives in a city far, far away. Last week, Sister from another Mother and Captain, My Captain were in town for a family wedding, and Mr. Perfect and I were able to meet them for lunch (Smashburger is da bomb!). We had a wonderful visit. Whenever we see each other, I realize just how much I miss talking with her face-to-face. I love reading her blog, but there's nothing like sitting for an hour or two together, sometimes talking, sometimes not. You know how it is with people you've known forever. It was also the first time that they were able to meet Mr. Perfect.

Wordless Wednesday

More links from my HTML class

My HTML class is almost over. I've learned so much. It's really quite exciting. Mr. Perfect thinks that after the second class, I'll probably be able to help them redesign the website for his company. Sounds fun and challenging. I may start a whole new second career. Of course, I'll need a lot more classes and training before I would feel completely comfortable asking people to pay me for my services, but this is a start.

So, back to what I've been up to in the class. Click here to see my final project. I'm still working on it, so you might have fun coming back a couple of times to see the progress.

All Of Me

A couple of my piano students have learned this piece. It's a lot of fun to listen to, and it's a total blast to play. Kudos, Mr. Schmidt.

Alpine City fire

It's been so dry in Utah this summer. There are fires all over the state. My uncle and aunt live in Alpine, Utah. Yesterday, they had a serious wildfire that breach the city limits. A couple of neighborhoods in their ward were evacuated. Piano Uncle and Happy Aunt were prepared to evacuate, if needed, but their street was spared. Here's picture from the Salt Lake Valley of the smoke coming from the canyons. The fire was across the mountains in Utah County.
