Let the wedding planning begin!!!

We are so excited to announce that Drama Queen has found the man of her dreams, Mr. Director. He has proposed, and she has accepted said proposal. Wedding bells will begin ringing late summer/early fall. They are so fabulous together, and we couldn't be more excited.

Welcome to the craziness, Mr. Director!

Engagement announcement cover

A few weeks ago, I took engagement photos for our niece and her fiance. It was a lot of fun, and when we came back from our huge trip to the U.K. (hopefully a topic for an upcoming post) and found the invite in our mailbox, I was touched and excited to see that they used so many of the pictures from the photo shoot in the invitation. Here is the one they used as the cover for the announcement:

They have it centered, and the tree splits down the middle to open the invite. Love it! Thanks, guys! Now to finish up processing the bridals. Whew!

Happy Anniversary to the one I love

Five years ago today, I married the most amazing person I have ever met. He is kind, loving, patient, and dang sexy. He makes me feel loved, appreciated, needed, and dang sexy. Mr. Perfect, thank you again for being perfect for me. I can't wait for eternity with you.

Mr. Perfect's willingness to let me play with my camera

I love all of these pictures of Mr. Perfect. He was very gracious to let me take pictures of him while he tried to nap one lazy Sunday afternoon. Thank you, sweetie!

Baby blessing and Father's Day

This year, Mr. Perfect had a very full Father's Day. First, we we invited to a blessing for Texas Boy and Not Snow's Biggest Fan's baby boy, Mr. H. He is the most adorable baby, as you can see from the pictures.

After the blessing, we met several family members at Dad M's grave to have a short picnic and bring some flowers. Dad, we love you and miss you, but we know we'll see you again. Then we had dinner at our place with lots of family. Drama Queen and Man in Plays were on hand to wish Mr. Perfect a Happy Father's Day and just hang out for a while. That was especially nice.

So, to the man I love: Happy Father's Day!

When Did You Fall in Love with Me?

A friend at work introduced me to Chris Rice's music several years ago. He's a Christian artist who has released several albums. He hasn't released any new music since 2008; I hope he is still writing and recording.

Even though we've been married for more than four years, this song makes me smile and think of Mr. Perfect and when we were dating.

Happy Valentines Day, Mr. Perfect

I just wanted to wish my sweet, sweet husband a Happy Valentines Day. He is amazing, and I'm so lucky that he's mine.

I'll love you forever.

YouTube Video Wednesday

The girls and their guys

When Drama Queen asked if PaintBall Boy could come to the photo shoot and maybe jump into some of the shots, we immediately said "Of course! and let Lawyer-in-the-Works know that Our Computer Fixer can come, too!" We love the results. We think they look a bit like those pictures of people no one knows that come in frames when you buy them (because our kids are beautiful enough to be models, don't you know).

Thanks, again, to Melina Moore Memories for the wonderful pictures.

A woman who can food process is a happy woman

Did I ever mention what Mr. Perfect got me for Valentine's Day? No? Silly me. He bought me a beautiful food processor. Now, I have gone most of my adult cooking life thinking that food processors were for lazy, lazy women who didn't really know their way around a kitchen.

Boy, was I wrong. And I'm fully willing to admit it. I WAS WRONG! See?

There are way, WAY too many recipes out there that I want to try that all have this previously-phrase-of-frustration: "Put XXX in food processor and XXX." I'm very happy to report that seeing this line in a recipe will no longer cause me to sigh with great sadness.

To inaugurate the new kitchen toy, we crushed graham crackers for Mr. Perfect's pie crust. Next, we tackled the remaining carrots in the garden. Winter carrots are incredibly sweet. But they are also HUGE. And carrot juice stains (I'm just saying). But we now have 15 cups of shredded carrots in the freezer to use throughout the coming seasons until the next carrot harvest. And I have a once nice and white bowl that is permanently orange. Well, I guess I could try a bleach bath on it. *shudder

After that, it was fresh salsa. Oh yeah, baby! This was definitely the funnest thing that happened with the new toy. And it was delicious! (Posted on the cooking blog.)

So, you want to make your wife a happy, happy woman in the kitchen? Get her a food processor. Pronto!

That is all.

So, who's the luckiest girl in the world?

Me, that's who. I've been disgusted with the condition of the floor in my car for many moons now. Seriously disgusted. I can't believe I let it get this bad disgusted. On Friday nights, Mr. Perfect and I always talk about what we want to be able to get done during the weekend, and this last Friday I mentioned vacuuming out my car, but there was also laundry and the Utah reception for Genius Child #1 and Georgia's Sweetest Peach and family in town from other places (loved, loved, LOVED spending time with Lady Songbird and Nippon Boy) and a MacBook Pro that was refusing to burn disks of pictures and video. It was a crazy, crazy weekend.

So, after setting up for the reception and lunch with aforementioned out-of-towner family members and before the family pictures before the reception official start time, I thought I might have time to tackle the car disgustingness. That is, until we got home and I couldn't move. I laid down on the futon, and suddenly it was 4:00, and Mr. Perfect was whispering in my ear that it was time to get ready, and he had vacuumed the front of the Senta.

What a man. I mean, really, what a man. And I get to keep him FOREVER. Eternity is going to be so sweet.

Georgia was...

...fun, tiring, pretty, wildly-weatherish, exhausting, made-up of too many roads, spiritual, inspiring, beautiful, green, humid, windy, fun.

Thanks, Genius Child #1 and Georgia's Sweetest Peach, for including us in your wedding. We had a blast.

Wing Nutz and Granite Furniture

For our anniversary lunch, Mr. Perfect and I went to Wing Nutz to enjoy some Parmesan Curry and Raspberry Chipolte wings (yummm!). There's one right across the street from where Mr. Perfect was working away at the old Granite Furniture store. The owners are hoping to turn it into smaller shops and some condos on the upper level. Here are pictures of us on the roof by the old Granite Furniture sign.

They're hoping to save the sign; it still turns. We couldn't get a picture together because it was only us up there. Alas, ear wax.
