Drama Queen and the Utah Shakespearean Festival!

We were so excited when Drama Queen told us that she was picked to participate in an internship with the Utah Shakespearean Festival this season. We love USF, and we love Drama Queen. It's a perfect combination. We can't take pictures of her in her costumes for Amadeus or South Pacific, but here are a couple of her working the crowd as part of the Greenshow.

So everyone head on down to the Cedar City and catch our girl in one of these fabulous performances!

Random Scotland picture

I know I've been neglecting this blog. So many things have happened this year, that I haven't had time to post. Just to keep things interesting, here is a random picture from our Scotland trip that Mr. Perfect took. Hope you enjoy it!

Happy Halloween, and, oh look! a Scotland picture

With the trip earlier this month, we haven't done much in the way of preparing for Halloween. We didn't buy any pumpkins, let alone carve them. But that just means that we have really cool pictures from Scotland to share, like this one of Glengarry Castle,

Sorry, it looks like I might end up feeding ya'll Scotland pictures in ones and twos slowly over the next few months. Too much other stuff going on. Hopefully not, though. We'll have to see.

But any way, everyone have a fun and safe All Hallow's Eve!

Love these faces

Mr. Perfect and Most Happy Girl had a wonderful trip to Spokane to visit Lawyer-in-the-Works over the Labor Day weekend. We had a lot of fun, ate a lot of really good food (great suggestions from Lawyer-in-the-works), and were able to make a session at the Spokane LDS Temple. (Another down, almost 100 to go.) I don't have many of the pictures ready to post online, but here are three that make me smile.

I'll try to post more later today or tomorrow. In the meantime, here's one from the temple.

And one of Mr. Perfect up close and personal.

Home again, home again, jiggity jig

It seems like all we have been doing so far this summer is running from one trip to another (I know, I know; what a horrible problem to have). This past weekend, we made our yearly jaunt down to Cedar City for the Utah Shakespeare Festival. It was a wonderful trip. Both Drama Queen and Man in Plays came, we saw all six shows (in three days no less -- whoosh!), we ate too much food, and we walked around town a lot.

I love this tradition. 18 years strong, and still no rain-outs in the outdoors Adams Theatre. Whoot whoot!

Preview of things to come

It might take me a bit of time to get everything together for a post of our trip to northern Arizona for the M Family Reunion, but hopefully not too long. In the meantime, here's a teaser of things to come.

Oh and look, we actually remembered to take Percy and Harry. Score one for the Travel Mascot Parents.

Home decor

I'm not much of a knickknack kind of decorator. I don't look at most trinkets and think "Wow, I'd love to have that in my home." I'm more of the "Hey, look at that bowl. I could put something to eat in it" kind of decorator. I don't know if it's fortunate or not, but my taste in candy bowls runs more towards the Waterford Crystal variety. Okay, who am I kidding? I love classy Waterford Crystal, and I'm only saved from having waaaay too much of it in my home by how outrageously expensive it is. Many years ago (before I became the Most Happy Girl), I went to England with some friends, and this was the main souvenir that I brought back for myself:

As you can see, it is sadly lacking in having something fun or yummy inside it right now. It has spent the past four years being a junk collection bowl in the kitchen, and was only released from prison because Little Big Sis and Painter Extraordinaire went to England and brought this back for me:

How sad is it that the new bowl gets fun treats (dark chocolate: yummm!) before the first one does? This is the picture I sent with them with instructions of "Find something similar":

I like the one they brought back better. How lucky is that? I mean, look at this detail:

The spiral cut that runs around the entire bowl is just amazingly cool.

This trip was quite the feat for Little Big Sis. She's a nervous traveler and had never been outside of the country (no one really counts Tijuana as "out of the country"). But Painter Extraordinaire served an LDS mission to Leeds, England and has always wanted to go back, and especially with LBSMr. Perfect and I are already planning what we want to do with them the next time they go to England (and we go with them).

Drama Queen and Mr. Perfect

While in Cedar City last weekend, we were able to spend some really fun time with Drama Queen. I snapped this quick picture of her and Mr. Perfect at lunch on Saturday. It just makes me happy.

Because everyone should have their own picture of the moon

I took this picture. No seriously. While we were in California, we stayed with Mr. Perfect's sister, California Girl, and her family. Her husband, Financial Wizard, is part owner of some pretty impressive telescopes. We went up there on our first night, and we each got to take our own picture of the moon through this really cool telescope.

Now, aren't you jealous? I knew you would be.
