You can run...

Beatle's Lover told us last night that she not only received a superior at the district-level drama competition (and is going to state), but that she took top honors in humorist monologue. Way to go!!

When asked it she would perform it for us, she became very guarded and said no repeatedly. I asked her what it was from, so after the kids headed to their mom's, I used my favorite search engine to track it down. No wonder she wouldn't perform it for us. It has a bit of profanity in it. Makes me sad for the public school system.

I'm proud of her accomplishment, but it s too bad that the schools sometimes have teachers that feel it is more important to fit in with teenagers and be cool than help instill values in the youth.

Parker has a teacher that gave him a CD full of punk music, and while I was glad he supported him, it wasn't his place to bring some of those songs into our home.

It isn't helpful when the teachers help promote the idea that the parents are old square prudes. The fact that i said "old square prude" probably solidifies that I am one though, lol.

It was the Tuna Fish Breakdown from a play called Laughing Wild.
